Came here for a celebration with a friend, so we sort of splurged a little bit. We wanted to share so we got a number of starters and we both got alcohol.

It was pretty busy when we got there, and we had to wait in line for a couple of minutes, but we were seated fairly soon. Most people came in pairs, although they do take reservations. The vibe in the little alleyway was really nice.

All the food was nice. Takoyaki was piping hot and lovely. The butter scallops were also really nice. We got the unagi don which both of us always love. The unagi was super soft, there was a pretty average portion size. It was sort of shaved egg and some seaweed salad, also pickled ginger.

In terms of drinks, my cocktail did taste quite artificial, but I didn't dislike it. It was sweet enough and not strongly alcoholic in taste, but I would say it reminded me a bit of medicine. The ice cream on the top was really nice though. The sake that we tried was really quite fresh, honestly it barely tasted like anything going down. It was almost just like water, with a mild alcoholic aftertaste. I tried only a cup because my alcohol tolerance is low. My friend had most of the bottle but I ended up taking the rest home.

We also ended up getting a taiyaki for dessert. The green tea ice cream wasn't very strong and quite watery. The taiyaki was larger than I expected, red bean inside, it wasn't as piping hot as I would have expected. It was still somehow really crispy on the outside though.

Everything here tasted good and the vibe was pretty immaculate. I would absolutely come here again. Nothing particularly stood out taste-wise though, so I can't give it a 5 stars.
