Bowltiful 壹碗

I came here with a vegetarian friend. We went for dinner but struggled to find somewhere that had good vegetarian food, which I find is always difficult in the city. We ended up here at Bowltiful near where I live, and she had some vegetarian dried noodles. 

I got the signature beef noodle soup, which gave me a direct comparison with this place's competitor, Master Lanzhou Noodle Bar, which I've had many times. I found that this place did not disappoint.  The beef was thinly sliced and cooked perfectly to melt in your mouth. The broth was excellent and the perfect saltiness. My only minor issue was with the noodles themselves. I got the 二细 noodles, which is the same size that I usually get at Master Lanzhou, but at Bowltiful the noodles were noticeably thicker. They also weren't as chewy as the Master Lanzhou noodles and generally felt a bit less good. There was a clump where the noodles were stuck together, which sometimes happens at Master Lanzhou too, but it sure didn't add to the experience. 

Overall I enjoyed my Bowltiful noodles. They are a great Halal-friendly option and provide pretty much the same taste. The dried noodles that my friend ordered were genuinely massive though, so I would consider sharing with a friend, and getting a thinner noodle at this place. 

You could order at the table with a card surcharge. Plenty of seating spots for singles too.
