I came here for lunch with my parents. It's a pretty well known spot and it praised for its authentic taste, so I thought I'd give it a go.
My mum likes gnocchi so we had to get some of that. I wanted to get something with seafood, and the fettuccini mondo sounded like seafood. And then the waiter was telling us about the specials and my mum thought the snapper sounded good. So we also got the whole snapper. He was going on about how fresh it was.
To be fair, the snapper was probably the best part of this meal, and my parents enjoyed it a lot. Even the salad was really nice, with a nice acidic dressing that wasn't too much. The potatoes as well were sort of a highlight, they were so crispy and cooked with butter. Delicious. The fish was smaller than we expected but very fresh - it had been stuffed with herbs as well, which really made the flavour seep in.
The pasta was good, but I wouldn't say it was particularly noteworthy, especially when compared to all the other Italian places there are around the city. Maybe it was authentic, I have no idea. It was good though. The pesto chicken gnocchi was lovely and the fettuccini had a lovely creamy sauce with plenty of seafood mixed in.
It was good. You get what you pay for.
