Mensho Tokyo Ramen

Rating: 4.5 ⭐

Ordered:
- signature toripaiten: $29.50
- vegan toripaiten with extra spice: $28

This is a pretty popular place. I tried going here for lunch once but the line was too long. This time I came with my friend for dinner and the line seemed even longer, but turns out it was just one big group, so we actually got let in fairly quickly because we were just two people. Score.

I wasn't really sure what to expect here. I got the signature ramen that was apparently michelin rated??? I mean, it was good. I just didn't really get how it was michelin-rated good. The chashu was really nice and smokey. Whatever the other slice of meat was, was also good. My friend got the vegan version and she said it was genuinely amazing. High high praise from her. Again I think I'm just not the biggest fan of tonkotsu-style ramen.

I'd say the ramen noodles were interesting. I've never seen anything like them. They're kind of thick and curly? They were good. My ramen had two slices of mushroom and some dried enoki mushrooms that rehydrated in the broth. And the two meats.

Card surcharge here too but we couldn't figure out if there was a cash option.
