Five Guys (2)

Ordered:
- Biscoff milkshake: $10.90

There was something fundamentally wrong with the Five Guys milkshake. I've been meaning to try it since they seem to have all sorts of different flavours, including bacon. I wasn't feeling that adventurous so I thought I couldn't go wrong with Biscoff. Turns out, things could definitely go wrong.

Firstly, and probably most importantly, they gave me a straw (paper one but I don't think a plastic one would've fared any better) and. It did not work. I thought initially that maybe the Biscoff pieces weren't crushed finely enough and that bits were lodging themselves into the straw, but it soon became apparent that actually, the milkshake was simply too thick to be sucked up a straw. I ended up going to the cutlery desk and grabbing some wooden forks (there weren't any spoons available) and used that to have the milkshake instead.

The second thing that I found out was that this milkshake seemed to be entirely made of ice cream. There were little bits of crushed Biscoff cookies in there but other than that - no Biscoff flavouring, no milk, no nothing. It was not liquid - hence the straw didn't work. I had just bought an entire cup of soft serve ice cream with some roughtly chopped Biscoff biscuits in it and some whipped cream on top. The whipped cream did not do anything for the flavour. Who puts whipped cream on soft serve ice cream?

Like all American portion sizes I could not finish this caloric nightmare. I went home and put it in the freezer, but I think I will probably end up throwing the rest of the drink out. The ice cream itself tasted fine, but it just was not what I ordered. I wanted a milkshake. There was no milk in sight.

As usual, card surcharge at this business.
